NIKKI SIXX: New TV Interview Posted Online
December 7, 2007MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx visited with TXA 21's Kenneth Taylor in Texas earlier today (December 7) to talk about his new book, "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star", which debuted at No. 7 on The New York Times Book Review non-fiction bestseller list. SIXX A.M., the new band led by Sixx, has released the video for its song "Accidents Can Happen". The clip, which was shot on November 5 with Paul Brown, can be viewed below. The track comes off the group's debut album, "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, The Soundtrack", which was written and produced by Sixx, James Michael and DJ Ashba as the dark, sonic companion to the book. "The Heroin Diaries" soundtrack was released on August 21 via Eleven Seven Music with the book following on September 18 from MTV/VH1 Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster.
SIXX A.M. made its official live debut at 94.9 The Blaze's Halloween Havoc 2007 on October 25 at The E-Center in West Valley City, Utah. Also appearing on the bill were KORN, OPERATOR, AIRBOURNE and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH.
In September, Nikki Sixx became the first member of the rock world to speak on Capitol Hill at a NAADAC event commencing National Drug & Alcohol Addiction Recovery Month.
Twenty-five percent of "The Heroin Diaries"'s proceeds is donated to Running Wild in the Night, Sixx's music initiative for Covenant House, which helps keep abused and abandoned kids off the streets.
